Best flours for your health – Tigernut Flour

The weather is warming up and everyone is talking about the fresh blooms and appraoching summer season (high five). Cooking flours is also a topic of spring conversation, because summer is around the corner guys and this means beach body mentality (see-ya gluten).

Tigernut Flour has been included in the list of healthiest flour options in this recent article on ninemsn.com.au. Dietitian Themis Chryssidis stated:

“Paleos are getting themselves into a flurry over tigernut flour, which is made from tigernuts, a potato-like root vegetable that apparently made up about 80 percent of the diet of our paleolithic ancestors in Africa and the Mediterranean.

There aren’t many Aussie stockists but you can buy it online for a flour that’s promoted as being high in fibre, iron, potassium and vitamins E and C. It has a slightly sweet taste, making paleo bakers froth.”
